Buddha

The main person in this story is Prince Siddhartha, the future Buddha, who lived more than 2,500 years ago.His dad was King Suddhodana and his mother was Queen Maha Maya.They lived in India in a city called kapilavatthu.Queen Maha Maya was kind and intelligent.King Suddhodana was honoured and respected because he ruled well.After many years Queen Maha Maya became pregant. She gave birth to a boy in Lumbini park.Five days after the princes birth the king called five wise men to choose a name for the baby.They named him Siddhartha which means the one whose wishes will be fulfilled.
